Finally worked out how to get photos on this thing. You guys had better appreciate it coz it took over half an hour to upload these 4 photos. Broadband hasn't quite made it here yet.

All is well, things are no calmer. I'm starting a top secret classified class tomorrow (the army) which should be fun. 30 students, no English and me. Always game for a new challenge. Temps are hitting the 40's now and we haven't seen a cloud for weeks - this is not good as it's impossible to be outside. Hence bike riding at 6am - aaargh. Apparently it's due to get hotter still...

So, to stave off boredom, which is our biggest enemy here, we plan to do the following things:

1 Is it really hot enough to fry an egg? Stay tuned....

2 Build a fort on the roof complete with paddling pool, beer fridge and ping pong table.

3 work

4 Any further ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Alex meeting the (Turkish) locals. Fortunately they weren't all that big. Apparently he wasn't very good at basketball...

Adrienne, Hana our co-worker and Saddam's wife's palace now in ruins. Saddam's palace is on top of the hill on the other side of the valley. Presumably they used semaphore?

The view from our hotel in Mardin, SE Turkey.

Adrienne gets friendly with the (Turkish) locals.

Thanks for the photos you two -- glad to see you are looking great!
40+ degrees -- even too hot for me! You probably feel like a couple of french fries in the hot oil at MacDonalds! Careful on those bikes -- if you crash, are knocked out and fall on the pavement you might cook to death!
All is well in the Okanagan and we are looking for some hot weather as has been unusally cool and rainy for June. Gearing up for the football season -- Sk. at BC tonight but exhibition game so no watchie on TV!
An activity you might try to relieve your hot weather boredom: find chickens and check to see if they are laying hard-boiled eggs!
Miss you lots!

Hey guys! Good to actually SEE you're still very much alive'n'kicking - i see Adrienne hasn't lost her touch with the blokes (or you, Alex for that matter!) Nice snaps!!

How about sending some of that heat over here? With only 2 weeks til summer school kicks off, we're kinda lacking the 'summer' bit in our course title!!! Can't complain though, cos had grogeous weather for IOW festival.Had an amazing time and yup, the Stones really did rock and then some!

Hmmm...boiling hot weather/boredom relief activities..well, apart from designing your own range of designer knotted handkerchieves to be donned when out cycling, why not try rain dancing?!!

Take care
Lotsa love xxx
